Domaine Joseph Mellot is present in all of the Central-Loire valley appellations: Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Coteaux du Giennois and Chateaumeillant.

The vines are cultivated according to a philosophy that is principled and sustainable. This has culminated in obtaining Level 2 Environmental Certification for each of our appellations.
Whether on the marly soils of Pouilly-Fumé, the flint of Sancerre, or the gravelly sands of the Quincy and Reuilly appellations, the same purpose drives our teams throughout the year: developing and enhancing the quality of our vines.

High quality grapes are essential to the production of great wines. Striving to achieve the highest quality of wine, our vineyards are cultivated with an eye for detail and are given individual attention. Adding natural fertilisers, rigorous pruning, and working the soil on the surface or at depth are all winter occupations of great importance. Each of our plots is carefully cultivated according to its specific needs. In spring, when the growing season begins, disbudding, leaf thinning and lifting operations ensure that the vines flourish and are able to produce the very best grapes.

Perfect knowledge of the soil

The identity of a vineyard is recognized by the natural elements present such as climate, soil, grape varieties, its exposure, integrating the work of the human hand. This combination suffices to reveal the terroir that is transcribed by the vibrations felt during the tasting.
