Located in the departments of Cher and Indre, The vineyard of Châteaumeillant covering a surface area of 90 hectares.
The vines are planted on types of soil of sedimentary origin that is composed predominantly of kimmeridgian marl.
The area of appellation is divided between 7 communes: Châteaumeillant, Saint-Maur et Vesdun in the Cher and Champillet, Feusines, Néret et Urcier in the Indre.
Grape variety : 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot Noir.
